Ingredients
1 c. (2 sticks) margarine or butter1 1/4 c. Firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. Granulated sugar
2 x Eggs
2 Tbs. Milk
2 Tsp. Vanilla
1 3/4 c. All-purpose flour
1 Tsp. Baking soda
1/2 Tsp. Salt (optional)
2 1/2 c. Quaker oats (quick or old Fashioned, uncooked)
2 c. (1 12-oz. pkg.) semi-sweet Chocolate morsels
1 c. Coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
Directions
Heat oven to 375. Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, baking soda and salt, mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded measuring Tbs. onto ungreased cookie sheet. (for easy bar cookies press dough instead into bottom of ungreased 13 X 9 inch baking pan.) Bake cookies 9 to 10 mins for chewy and 12 to 13 for crispy (bake bar cookies 35 to 40mins until light golden brown). Cookies: cool 1 min on cookie sheet; move to wire rack. Cool completely. About 5 dozen cookies.
