This is comfort food! The writer notes that she does not add salt when cooking the rice. I think I would add salt as usual when cooking the rice for this recipe. I haven't tried this out yet, but I think the added salt couldn't hurt. I'm almost sure it won't be too salty...

I would rather use margarine or butter instead of lard. I am wondering if margarine would do the trick?

This recipe reminds me of Reese's peanut butter cups. I wonder if anyone has tried pouring these into muffin paper cups (colorful ones are best). This could be a great idea for holiday get-togethers.
